High voltage transmission line disc type porcelain insulator (common type) for high voltage overhead transmission and distribution lines for insulation and fixed wires, generally assembled insulator string for different voltage levels of the line.
Insulators play two basic roles in overhead transmission lines, namely, supporting the wire and preventing the current from returning to the ground. These two functions must be guaranteed. Insulators should not be invalidated due to various electromechanical stresses caused by changes in environment and electrical load conditions, otherwise the insulators will not play a significant role and will damage the use and service life of the whole line.
Common and anti-fouling insulators of the same strength grade are interchangeable with the same size of socket connection.
